Ok, be prepared. This post has no less than 43 images. And I was picky. Because at the colour run yesterday 481 images were snapped. 192 made their way through the editing phase. 43 of those ended up here.
I headed over to Lani‘s place super early. At 6.56am I rang her doorbell. It was time to get ready.
Lani was putting on nail polish.
We had a little helper!
This is how awesome we looked before we left the apartment. By then Angela had joined up, all dolled up, and Eric had managed to drag himself out of bed and put on the beard.
We weren’t the only ones going there!
Peter was there too. He wasn’t running, so he was the dedicated photographer of the day. A whole bunch of the pictures further down in this post are his. Thanks, sweets!
More people – Juan dropped by. He had no white wig, but hey, we’re not judging anyone here.
Us in all our glory.
And we danced! You always need to warm up properly, and what better way to do it than by dancing? Crazy dancing, preferably.
When we were almost at the start, Iulian joined in as well.
Here’s the awesome team Chasing Runbows! Angela, Lani, me, Iulian, Sam and Eric.
There were some in-run entertainment. These guys played fantastically and we stopped and danced a wee while.
Our dedicated photographer wasn’t running, so the camera stayed in the festival area. I did snap some pictures during the actual race with my phone. I’ll share them in a later post.
This is how we looked like when we reached the goal. Super excited!
Angela stopped to smell the roses.
Tired, colourful, but happy.
Juan made it to the goal as well. He slightly resembled a smurf.
Iulian showed off his Russian face.
We then headed to the Festival area.
There was more colour throwing going on there.
Angela looked absolutely spectacular!
Head studies. Eric.
And me! Hi hi!
Scrunched! Despite the gray skies and the weather report promising rain, we never got a drop on us and it got really sunny after the race finished.
When they closed down the color run festival area we got on a train and headed into the city. Going home for a shower? Nah. We walked down to Birrarung Marr to hang out The People’s Garden.
We ordered some pints of boysenberry cider.
And food! Yum!
Edward came by. From the look of his face I don’t think he expected the crazy, crazy looks of us.
I would guess instagramming.
Eric and Peter.
Then there was dancing!
Edward had a double beer.
Then the sunglasses got shared all over the place. And Lani’s ears.
When we got tired of this, we took the tram back home, got some sausages from massive weiners and ate, drank some wine and talked to late. Such a great Sunday!
If you’re still not bored with pictures from the day, the rest of the 192 images are available on Flickr. Click here and check ’em outv!
